Chicago, IL To celebrate spring break, the Adler Planetarium is offering lots of exciting programs for adults and families during March and April. From planetarium shows to educational activities, the Adler has a host of programs that will appeal to all age groups. The season kicks off with three new space shows. Undiscovered Worlds explores a timeless question in a now exploding field: Do other planets like Earth exist? Through the discovery of exoplanets the hundreds of planets that have been found orbiting stars beyond the Sun we have learned that our solar system is not alone in the universe, and we have had to redefine our understanding of planets and solar systems. Undiscovered worlds is now showing in the Definiti Space Theater.
For the over 21 crowd, the Adler After Dark takes place one Thursday a month. Amble around the Adler's exhibitions or take in a sky or space show. Adler After Dark is the only time you can peek through the Doane Observatory telescope, the largest public telescope in the Midwest area. Great for groups and makes for a very original date night, Adler After Dark has something for everyone! The Deep Space Adventure Pass includes admission to all exhibitions, Deep Space Adventure, an additional show and the Atwood Experience. Adults $28; Child (ages 3 11) $22. General admission (not including shows) is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for children ages 3 11. Definiti Space Theater Shows and 3D Universe Theater Shows are $10 each in addition to general admission. Chicago residents receive a $2 discount on adult admission packages and a $3 discount on child admission packages with proof of residency. Prices are subject to change. The Adler Planetarium does not offer advance ticket sales. Show and exhibition tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis at the Adler box office.
Spring Break Fun at the Adler
Beginning April 1 and continuing all week long, Adler visitors will enjoy special hands on activities, family workshops and engaging programs for parents and children as part of Charter One Family Week at the Adler Planetarium. The activities are presented by the Charter One Foundation.
The main attraction at the Adler is Deep Space Adventure, a new, immersive space experience like no other in the world! Deep Space Adventure takes you aboard the observation deck Skechers Lights Energy of a futuristic starship where you will be surrounded by the larger than life phenomena of our dynamic Universe. The centerpiece of Deep Space Adventure is the Grainger Sky Theater, which offers audiences the most immersive, technologically enhanced theater experience ever developed with space imagery in the highest resolution and quality possible. Audiences will encounter the Universe at a level of realism that can only be surpassed by actual space travel.

Space Junk 3D is a visually explosive journey of discovery that weighs the solutions aimed at restoring our planet's orbits. Space Junk 3D is now showing in the Universe Theater.

The Adler Planetarium is located at 1300 South Lake Shore Drive on the shores of Lake Michigan on Chicago's beautiful Museum Campus. Exit Lake Shore Drive at 18th Drive, continue north on Museum Campus Drive. Then veer right onto Solidarity Drive. Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Adler for $19. The Adler is serviced daily by CTA 146 bus. Metra Electric and South Shore trains stop at nearby Roosevelt Road station. CTA Red, Green and Orange lines are a one mile walk from the Museum Campus.
